I know I’ve been MIA for a bit – that happens between school library jobs, you don’t really feel like writing about a job you don’t have. But I am back, having returned to the school library work force at a middle school. Actually the only school I wanted to work for again. I say that now – lets hope things stay the same for a few years. I was all set to give up my school library career in favor of some other library or training type of job. Even an office job would have fit the bill. As a matter of fact I was working as a corporate scientific librarian for a few months. The school systems were going downhill, actually they still are – but this was and is such an amazing place to work. Middle school is the place to be – for me anyway, every person has to find their niche. The grade level or age group they work best with, mine is middle school. I love that the students get my sarcasm and my strange humor. That’s what makes a great teacher, someone who wants and enjoys being there, because that’s what helps a person succeed. They are willing to work harder if they enjoy what they do. They are willing to go above and beyond. So I am happy to say I am back at my niche, the place I think I was meant to be, where I can see myself helping students. I really never thought it would happen. Back Better Than Ever!
